The Origin of Our Pockets & Itty-Bittys
Pockets and Itty-Bittys are my own carefully developed lines, bred through more than 20 years of selective, healthy breeding to achieve these remarkably small sizes.
I originally began breeding down size because lifting a 28-pound Frenchie for shows or daily care became too painful for me due to a bad back. Today, as anyone visiting our farm can see, I have no problem handling and showing our smaller Frenchies. Historically, French Bulldogs even featured two weight classes (heavyweight and lightweight) before being combined into a single standard with a 28-pound maximum and no minimum weight limit.
Why Our Small Lines Are Truly Different
- Strictly Purebred with No Shortcuts: We do not crossbreed or take shortcuts with other breeds. Every puppy comes from elite AKC show lines and champion pedigrees.
- Show Ring Success: While rare colors cannot be shown, our small sizes can be shown—and they excel in the ring, as proven by the walls and drawers full of ribbons we've earned over the decades.

Why Our Tiny Pockets & Itty-Bittys Require Specialized Care
Our Pockets and Itty-Bittys are exceptionally rare and require a level of dedication that sets them apart from average Frenchies. Because they are so tiny at birth, they require intensive, around-the-clock management:
- Round-the-Clock Incubator Care: Unlike larger puppies where the mother handles most of the early care, our tiny babies are raised with specialized supervision for the first couple of weeks.
- Protected Nursing & Feeding: They are managed using a custom incubator system, placed with Mom under sharp supervision every two hours to nurse, stimulated, and safely returned to the incubator to prevent them from being accidentally laid on—a critical risk with stocky builds.
- Extended Development Time: Because they must be kept separate from larger puppies who could play too roughly, we retain them until they are robust enough to rehome, typically weighing at least 2 pounds at 3 to 4 months of age.
- Deep Personal Investment: As you can imagine with all of the extra handling, specialized feeding, and 24-hour care, we get extraordinarily attached to each and every one of these precious babies before they leave for their new homes.
